Autism Action DVD launched in Autism Awareness Week

The Autism Awareness Campaign UK recently launched an 'Autism Action' DVD in Autism Awareness Week 2007 in the United Kingdom.


The Autism Action film, directed by the renowned Ian McLeod, aims to bring the autism campaign to the doorstep of No 10 Downing Street. Ivan Corea, head of the Autism Awareness Campaign UK appeals to Prime Minister Gordon Brown to launch a national strategy on autism and Asperger's Syndrome and a 10 year plan of action on autism in the film released in Autism Awareness Week.

There are over 500,000 people with autism in the United Kingdom. According to researchers 1 in 100 children may have autism. It is now a very serious health and education issue facing the United Kingdom.

Lee Scott MP for Ilford North and member of the House of Commons Select Committee on Health urges Her Majesty's Government to provide ring-fenced funding for autism services in the 'Autism Action' DVD.

The 'Autism Action' film can now be seen on youtube. Copies of the DVD were sent to Prime Minister Gordon Brown, Leader of the Opposition David Cameron and acting leader of the Liberal Democrats Dr. Vincent Cable. It's become one of the most talked about films in parliament.
